5.3.1 on XP pro and dual display: it works

Just installed XP Pro and 5.3.1. About one hour total time on a PIII 733Mhz Gateway. Everything works F.I.N.E. My SCSI audio drive worked immediately after I installed XP Pro. The dual display works fine too, I can extend the PTLE window to cover both monitors, and show the mixewr in one and the editor in the other, or stretch either on both monitors. I'm installing a FireWire adapter next so I can download video files and try the DV import. Very smooth release...

I am glad you like 5.3.1 but the dual display has always worked the same way. That was never the problem. The problem is that it does NOT remember your settings. It you get everything pretty on both screens and hit save and close it out, when you go back into PT everything will show up on one screen and NOT how you left it.

Software like Cubase remembers how you like it and when you start it up goes to those particular settings.

Well, I know that it's working the same way it always has, been using dual display for 18 months. No need to be snotty. I'm just letting people know that it works. This is part of the excitement of installing a new upgrade. It IS a drag that settings can't be saved, agreed.

Well let's agree to agree, but I reread my post and there is nothing snotty about it.

It's at least patronizing. Whatever... I'm not really used to this on this cool site... No sweat
