Better Layouts creation?
 

Hi Eddie,

Am wondering if there has been any work done on making it more streamlined to create layouts? Using the Hide Tracks feature is indeed helpful, but it still does mean a heap of mousing around.

It would be very helpful on a daily basis to have a workflow such as selecting a bunch of faders and then performing a "Create Layout from Selected" function. Then an "Update Current Layout" function could be called (ideally from a EuCon command).

These are both fantastic ideas.
Seems like a small thing but would improve the usability of the s3 exponentially.
Have you created an ideascale entry for this?

Bumping this. This process is one of those things that former Icon users see as a step backward. Creating fader sets from the console was a far more efficient way of doing this.

Maybe a possible solution would be if groups showed up on the drop down menus in the Assign tab? That way you could essentially assign a spill to a layout button.

I think is one of the main flaws of Eucon, special if you have a lot of tracks.
Personally for a regular length feature film I spend half a day just for layouts :confused:, quite boring...
Would be nice if the whole concept of layout creation was re thought.

+1. Don't know if it needs to be rethought, but "Create Layout from Selected" would be great.

I like to see the User Layout Page as an additional Faderpage in the On Stage App…

For those on mac that have KeyBoard Maestro; I've written a script that stores the first 16 "unhidden" tracks to a fader layer fast with a single keyboard shortcut. So you can arrange + hide/unhide the 16 first tracks in PT the way you want them on the board, launch the macro and find it stored on your layer of choice in a few seconds. For artist mix users there's also a shortcut to store and recall a layer of "blank faders" to layer 48, to use as "faders off" feature. PM me and I will be happy to send it.
