Pro Control and PT10, send causes crash
Fix found!
Cannot flip faders to sends. Doing so causes instant evaporation. Problem is caused by send path names with more than 8 characters WORKAROUND: before using flip command, edit IO path names so that any path used by a send contains 8 or fewer characters total. Pay attention to sub-paths when things like ".stereo" and ".C" are automatically appended during IO setup. All characters count. (Pro Control "scribble strip" displays are 8 characters long. The bug is related to that I think.) For a send path name that will never display on Pro Control, such as hidden tracks, send path name length does not matter for those tracks. |
Re: Pro Control and PT10, send causes crash
that would be a total show stopper for me as i am permanently in flip mode when dial mixing with my cedar dns one

Re: Pro Control and PT10, send causes crash
The faders work fine for plugins but not aux sends. Can't use them for verb sends, which is a bit of an issue for mixing. I have the faders working DNS all the time during editing. Indispensable!

That is less of a disaster but will put me off running 10 (along with the automation woes).
But at least if I go to 10 I would get my ProControl jog wheel scrub back which is broken on 9.03. Weary sigh.... |

For workaround see original post.

Re: Pro Control and PT10, send causes crash
Thank you Postman!!!
This works!!! funny after the 32bit vs. 64bit discussion... ... ProControl users have to stay with 3bit send names.;) if that's all, I'm fine with it... |

Re: Pro Control and PT10, crash bug fix!
Wow, thanks for posting Richard! I've been sitting on my PT10 install waiting for some free time, but I think I'm gonna hold off. I wonder if this bug is on a C24 also? It would require me to rename every send/bus in every template I use, not to mention all the current mixes in progress - hours and hours of work!

Re: Pro Control and PT10, send causes crash
Yes, truly a nightmare to rename everything.
C'mon Avid. Let's at least get a final fix for this simple yet critical problem for us PT10 / Pro Control users. |
