PT - mp3 export option won't authorize
 

Hi-

I purchased the mp3 option years ago. After installing PT8 and using an iLok on my system for the first time the mp3 option is not available. The error message says, "the mp3 option demo may have expired."

I tried going to the PT8 installer, but there is no option to simply install the mp3 option.

Any ideas, short of a complete uninstall? Does this feature have to be registered with the iLok now?

I appreciate any help... I need to bounce some mp3's for reference mixes today.

have the same problem with my 7.4LE. I solved it by bouncing to the desktop then using iTunes to convert... takes just a couple seconds longer, but it's the same result... as far as the iLok- mine was never able to be registered... I wouldn't do an uninstall... might just be a goose chase anyway...

Did you try authorizing it with the original authorization code that you got?

Do you have the MP3 Option iLok authorization on your iLok?

Hello, I had the same problem and after installing the mp3 option for PT8 as suggested and linked by DigiTechSupt a few posts ago I still get the same error.
I do see this in my iLok page:
Product: Pro Tools MP3 Export
Company: Digidesign
Type: License Expiration: Never
Date downloaded: 05/29/2008

and I have restarted PT but it still won't work.
Can somebody help me?

Make sure you don't have the "demo" mp3 plugin there also. In the notes from digidesign if you have both it will result in problems such as this.

are you talking about the plug in file or the authorization in the ilok?

in ilok I see only what I posted...
in the plug in folder I don't see any plug in at all... is it stored somewhere else? where should I look?

If you have installed the MP3 Option, it would be located here:
Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools/Codecs/MP3/MP3.bundle

That file (MP3.bundle) should be the only file in that folder named MP3.
