Look for a Bryston 4BST or a pair of 2BST in dual mono.

ONLY ONE TO CONSIDER:

YAMAHA'S P-2200
LESS THAN $200 ON EBAY
A SERIOUS BEAST OF AN AMP
I'll stop screaming now

I agree with THETHRILLFACTOR about the Bryston 4B. Great amp. I use both a 3B and 4B. Around $250-300 last I looked on eBay.

Re: Yamaha NS-10 (what would be the perfect power amp?)

hi everyone

thanks for the info
my only concern is too much power to the yamaha's
some of these amps are rated at over 200 watts @ 8 ohms.

the RMS on the Yamaha's says 60w/160w peak 8 ohms
i'm concerned that this is going to be too much
and i'll blow them out if i crank them

and since these are discontinued
finding parts could be a hassle down the road

what would be your take on this?
i heard only good things on the Bryston
maybe i'll decide for that but
i would like to be totally clear on the watts department
before i commit to an amp for the Yamaha's.

any comments?
thanks,
charles

We are buying some new amps right now my research has shown that the Hafler P4000 or P7000 is the right choice unless you have the cash and then the Perreaux stuff (750) is incredible. Pure class A and very clean power amps. The P4000 is under $1k is money is a concern.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">You should be more concerned about using an amp that is under-rated.

If you were to use a 60W, it is likely you would damage the NS10's.

There is enough info on speaker/amp ratings and clipping and headroom etc, already on the net so I don't need to say it again here
