SynthMaster, SynthMaster Player & Player FREE now in AAX format!
 

Hi everyone,

After a hectic development period we are glad to announce that our SynthMaster, SynthMaster Player and SynthMaster Player FREE plugins are now available in AAX (32&64 bit) format on both Win/Mac platforms in out latest v2.6.15 update.

Along with AAX support, there are other goodies: More factory presets for Player/Player FREE, a new skin for Player and now Player skins are part of SynthMaster as well!

The entire changelogs are below:

New Fetures for SynthMaster:
1. Added AAX version of SynthMaster (32/64 bits on Win/Mac platforms)
2. SynthMaster Player skins are now included with SynthMaster as well
3. Added Midi Learn for XYPad controls
4. Added delete preset feature (by right clicking on a preset)
5. Added random waveform selection for oscillators (by right clicking on an osc waveform)
6. Added listbox scroll using mouse wheel
7. Added preset bank import feature
8. Updated SynthMaster User Manual
9. All SynthMaster installers are now digitally signed
10.Changed Unison implementation to better manage resources
11.Users can now set the default preset to be used when initializing a new instance's settings
12.Users can now search presets by typing in text inside preset search textbox
13.Users can now load a preset randomly selected from current filtered presets list

Fixes for SynthMaster:
1. SynthMaster AU doesnt respond to up/down keyboard events to change current preset
2. SynthMaster VST/AU doesnt normalize discrete parameter values between 0 and 1, causing incompatibilities with many host applications
3. Selecting a Player skin crashes SynthMaster
4. Updated factory presets that have missing easy parameters
5. Updated Ufuk Kevser factory presets that have missing samples
6. SynthMaster doesn't read samples under <My Documents>\SynthMaster\Samples folder
7. SynthMaster doesn't read waveforms under My Documents<\SynthMaster\Waveforms folder
8. SynthMaster doesn't remember the last folder presets were saved to.
9. Resetting settings of a section might crash SynthMaster
10. Pasting settings of a section from clipboard might crash SynthMaster
11.Loading settings of a section from a partial preset file might crash SynthMaster
12.Changing the value of skin dropdown using mouse wheel crashes SynthMaster
13.Changing the value of scale dropdown using mouse wheel crashes SynthMasterl crashes SynthMaster

6. SynthMaster Player FREE now contains 200 factory presets

8. All SynthMaster Player installers are now digitally signed

Fixes for SynthMaster Player/Player FREE:
1. "Preset" choice missing for global skin parameter
2. "Preset" choice missing for global scale parameter
3. "Preset Skin", "Polyphony", "Preset Quality", "Preset Scale", "Preset Buffer Size" parameters are not saved/loaded correctly
4. SynthMaster Player VST/AU doesnt normalize discrete parameter values between 0 and 1, causing incompatibilities with many host applications

When I see the options for download, it says "everything 231MB" and I wonder if that includes all the expansions like Daniella Edm and so on or if we have to download those one by one? If so, what is the difference between the everything installer and the Synthmaster 2.6 installer for mac?

I listened to the demo sounds and such on the page and thought why not give the demo version a try so I downloaded it no problem. Installed no problem. Sounds really good, given the short 15 minute demo time. What is a problem is the Master Volume, while one can MIDI learn it to the controller of choice, that assignment doesn't stay when you change patches. Every time I changed a patch I had to re-learn it in the gui. I'm not talking the layer volumes but the master volume that's at the lower right of the browser gui. To my mind that should be global for all patches so that once MIDI learned it stays MIDI learned. Or is this a limitation of the demo?

Oh yes - when I downloaded the demo I got the popup window asking me if I wanted to signup for a newsletter or something and that I would get an email with a code for an extra 5% off. Never got that. I do like that when the demo period is over you can get an extra few percentage points off but what if your daw computer is not on the internet? Your system will never know about that.

Update:
Just heard back from the Facebook page and the developer acknowledged there is a problem with MIDI cc7. Hopefully it can be fixed before the sale stops.

'Everything Upgrade Installer' installs ALL of our current expansion banks! so that you don't have to download them one by one! :)

Should be able to release a hotfix for that, but right now all parameters except easy parameters are linked to MIDI CCs per preset. not globally.
There was a feature request to make all of MIDI links globally.

What's your thoughts on those ?

It sure would be great to have parameters globally linked to MIDI cc's to make it easy to move from one patch to the next without having to re-learn or rework a MIDI daw track to fit the patch.

Not having master volume (cc7) global so each patch doesn't have to be MIDI learned separately is a huge problem and one that's keeping me from making a purchase at this time. As the program stands now it's not convenient for working inside a daw. Every other vi I use has global master volume that once MIDI learned (if it isn't already defaulted) stays MIDI learned to cc7. Can't believe this wasn't done here.

Linking Master volume globally to a CC makes a lot of sense.

Will add that THIS WEEK :) Wait for v2.6.16 :)
