Constant screen freezing

Win 10 latest HD update, PT 2021.3. Nvidia quadro fx 1800 video card.
This constant screen freezing is unacceptable. It’s about every 10-15 seconds, and freezes for at least 5 seconds. I can’t get anything done this way. Missing some setting somewhere, maybe? It even does it while it’s “idling.” Watch the position cursor flash, then it’ll freeze for about 5 seconds. (2020.3 did it once in awhile, with a Matrox card in place, but this does it ALL THE DANG TIME, even with an approved card and latest drivers.) It also does not do it on any other programs. What am I missing here? Tired of it!

Can you try a new cable? If it's not the cable, can you try a different monitor? I had my Dell UltraSharp start to go after 6 years of faithful service. I got squiggly white lines along the bottom across the Taskbar off and on.

Brand new cables (the cat DIDN’T eat these. True story). The screen isn’t flashing or creating any artifacts, and in fact, if put the edit window on the left monitor, and the mix window on the right monitor, it still does it. Funny, an old instance of 10.3 on an even older MAC at my freelance gig doesn’t act up at all.

Tried a few things....OPERATION: both enable and disable gpu, both prevent tearing, and not prevent tearing, same thing.
Perplexing.

Nvidia just released a new driver. Will let you know if that helps. And wondering if perchance screen resolution comes into play with this?

Update, aka “stuff I never thought about.” Windows update enabled “disk indexing.” Unchecked it on all drives and it seems to be behaving a lot better.

Those pesky updates...........you probably should check a few other settings too as Windows updates have(sometimes) changed USB Power Management and the "default playback device" Glad you have it under control:D

Funny, after every update, that’s exactly what I do...check USB power management, playback devices, look to see if it pushed my UA OCTO card out of the way....disk indexing never occurred to me until yesterday. It also screwed with some of my network drive mapping. ”That way I learn!”
