Changing automated volume level
 

When viewing a track with automation in Volume mode, I know that you can use the trim tool at the end of the track to raise or lower the volume level of the entire track, preserving the relative levels of the existing automated volume moves.

Is there a way to do this simultaneously for multiple tracks? e.g. suppose there are three backing vocal tracks and I've automated all of them to balance in the various sections of the songs and to balance with the lead vocal, but then decide that the level of the lead vocal is too low so I increase that. Then I'd need to increase the levels of all three backing tracks as well. It is very finicky to get exact number of dB change by mouse drag. Then multiply this issue by many more tracks.

I just tried creating a group for the tracks and found that the end trim DID move all of the volume automations together, so that's good. Now...is there a way to type in a change value, rather than mouse drag?

Yep. Group the tracks, then use a VCA track assigned to that group. I know of no way to manually enter numeric values.

Definitely group the tracks. A VCA is optional(but is also a simple solution by itself). As said, you can't type in a value, but you can hold the Ctrl key to allow fine adjustments, and the display will show both the actual volume setting, and the amount of change from the earlier setting:o

Other options;
open the last plugin on each track and adjust its output
add a trim plugin(last) and set for the desired offset(plus or minus) and then Alt drag the plugin to the other tracks
Route all thru a stereo AUX track and adjust that as a group master

Open the Output Window (the little fader symbol right next to the VCA track name).
Click to highlight the numeric read-out of "0.0" on this Output Window, type your correction, maybe "-0.5" (without the quotes, of course), Enter.
Beauty: with the numeric read-out highlighted, even mouse scrollwheel works.
