Focusrite Saffire 56 -PT9
 

Hey, I have had my Saffire 56 hooked up'd since Christmas and got to say I love it so much more then the Digi 002. I am hoping that the RTAC mix control has some new drivers and completes the interface to make a smoother work experience (Hence the does not support 96khz error). I love the liquid pres so much better on my Microtech Geffel UM70 and TLM 103. I don't know if the emulations are accurate and don't really care, but they make my mics sound better than the other pres on the unit. The other pres sound a lot like the pres in my Presonus D8. By the way I get 64 samples of latency.

Also think there is some discussions we can have:

1. I'd like to know if anyone else using it knows anything on Focusrite's plans for the future of this device with PT9? Better drivers? The Focusrite Plugins to be RTAS instead of VST? We can only hope.

2. Has anyone used it in an aggregate device with something else? What?

3. Has anyone thought that 3 of these running aggregate together would create a 24 track 192 KHz recording machine?

4. Thoughts on the liquid pres?

5. Thoughts on how best to use (compliment) the SPDIF, i.e. a 1073 or other pre?
