Fader Control issue

I've got some multi tracked drums that I have made a group out of for doing some Elastic Time work on. I must have accidently hit a button that has locked them to their current fader position. More simply put, when I adjust the volume on the fader, they snap right back to where the fader was originally when I let go of the fader bar.

How do I regain control of my faders?

Re: Fader Control issue

You probably have automation going on. If you don't need any automated moves, you could just turn it off for the drum tracks. Or select to view volume(EDIT window) and delete the automation.

I have not done much as far as automation goes, so this may very well be the issue. Not in front of the machine right now but will look for this. Can you tell me where the automation on/off controls are?

In the MIX window look above each fader for a "button" that says "Read". That's the automation enable button for that track. Click on it to see the other options, which include Off:D. Then maybe go to youtube and search for things like "Pro Tools automation" or "how to use automation in pro tools"(without the quotes). Lots of good tutorials there(and some not so good:D).
