MTRX Studio Rack Size
 

Has anyone else had a problem fitting the studio in their rack? I got mine last week and the plastic face plate seems to be just so slightly larger that the metal rack ears behind it and it wont fit into my rack.

I also have an issue with headphone 1 playing only out the left side unless I jiggle and twist the adapter, but with distortion in the right. It also causes distortion in analog out 2. I think there is a short somewhere. Hp 2 plays fine. All the rest of the outputs are ok as well. Prolly just a bad unit and I plan on getting it swapped out thru sweetwater, but if the awkward rack size is something across all the units the Studio might not be for me which is disappointing.

I think the convertors are as good as my dangerous convert 2.

I've racked several MTRX Studios in multiple racks and haven't had any issues properly occupying or fitting the rack boundaries. I can't determine from your photos exactly what the concern is?

Your racks were made too narrow.

Yep.

Doesn’t look like there’s any wiggle room at all on that rack.

Mine have a couple of mm buffer on each side. I’ve got a few bits of gear that are slightly wider than others. Pretty common.

@creativecontrol The plastic face of the unit extends slightly past the metal ears behind it and it wont go flush.

Everything else has fit. This is the first time ive had this issue in 15 years.
Been out of town for the holidays but I will measure tmrw and report back

FWIW, all my racks are built to 19.25" after having this issue with something many years ago.

@ albee1952 when I had mine built I never figured that would be an issue :(

I measured it today and as per my trusty tape measure the front panel came in at 19 1/16”

Too bad. No mtrx studio for me...
