digi 003 rack mono button problem
 

I'm having a problem with the mono button on my digi 003 rack. When I first start up the 003 everything seems to be ok but as soon as PT (or another application launches and the core audio driver launches) the mono button LED starts randomly flashing. I noticed that if I pressed any other button on the 003 the LED would flash on the mono button. I shut everything down and unhooked the firewire cable and started the 003 up and once it started up everything again seems to be ok, then if I press any button on the 003 the mono light comes on again.
I also noticed that it IS in mono mode (if I load a track and pan it it does not respond)
I also noticed that as the light flashes it goes in and out of mono mode.

Any help would be great. I'm thinking this is a hardware problem but I want to be sure before I go looking into having it fixed.

Sounds Hardware based.

Some contacter playing up in the box?

Hardware repair. Unless this is a common fault fixable with a firmware update, but I've never heard of it.
