Pro Tools 9.02 crashing while loading certain sessions

I have a 2 week old PC running Windows 7 (SP1) with a fresh install of PT 9.02 & an M-Box 2 mini. All was working fine until when some (not all) saved sessions crash during loading giving a 'Pro Tools Application Has Stopped Working' message.

This occurs as the session is loading the various settings but I haven't been able to pin it down down to a particular plugin / type of track. A lot of the sessions were created on my old PT8/Windows XP PC but some have been edited and re-saved in PT9. I have not installed anything new in the last few days that I can attribute this problem to.

So far I have done all the obvious / recommended things like deleting setting & databases, updating drivers etc. and have done a PT 9 uninstall / reinstall. I really don't fancy uninstalling / reinstalling all the plugins or doing a windows reinstall so anyone got any ideas?

My Sandra is here:

Re: Pro Tools 9.02 crashing while loading certain sessions

You could try creating a new session, then importing the tracks one by one from your old session and see if a plugin or something is causing PT to crash.

Re: Pro Tools 9.02 crashing while loading certain sessions

cwsand Thanks for the suggestion. I tried import session track by track and Strike seems to be the culprit. After uninstalling it all the old sessions open ok (well without drums!).

I was running Strike 1.5 in Pro Tools 9.02 on Windows 7 (SP1) 64 bit. Anyone else had this problem or can think of a work around? I have 13 tracks recorded for an album and strike it on 10 of them.

Turns out I was missing out one the 3 preferences you are meant to delete / thrash.

This link really is a must for all PT9 probs: Delete Digidesign Databases and Preferences : http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...nd_Preferences
