PT 9.06 on Mac with SC48

Hi

I have installed PT 9.06 on my Mountion Lion MBPr. Prior to this in installed the FWx driver (002_and_003_Family_Drivers_v90_r3_73509).

The process I went through was
1. Install FWx driver
2. Install PT 9.0 form disk
3. Download and install the 9.06 upgrade.

All this went fine. PT starts fine (plugging the iLok in).

I then plugged the SC48 into my MBP Thunderbolt port via an adapter.

I couldn't get PT to "see" the SC48.

Is there any way I can check the driver is installed correct on the Mac? How do I know if the Mac can see the SC48?

Any help or suggestions on what to check or try.

PS - I am new to PT but do Live mixing.

Thanks
TS

When devices see each other you will be able to choose FWx32 driver in Pro Tools under Playback Engine drop-down menu. First I would make sure the adapter and cable work, try with FW HDD in place of SC48, does it work? Also, on the SC48 side, under Devices tab you will see a laptop icon appearing if connection is active.

Thank you Digidesigner.

So I checked the cable and it was OK with a disk. BUT I think it may have been lose at the SC48 end. Anyway - replugged the cable and adapters and reinstalled the FW drivers and now PT9 seems to see the FWx - so this is a step forward.

Now when I start a session I get the error "The current playback engine does not support a sample rate if 44.1kHz"

Any ideas on this one?

Thanks

Yes, of course. You must create a 48 khz session, not 44.1 as VENUE runs @ 48 khz fixed. You can aslo try to use VENUE link. This can be used to create sessions with channel info and more from VENUE. It would be helpful for you to see Live Recording Guide. http://akmedia.digidesign.com/suppor...uide_69790.pdf

Thank you again.

Will try this next time I can.
And thanks for pointing me at the reference. Some bedtime reading I think!
