Really? The table I have attached says it should be able to install and launch...

The official compatibility tables are here https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...tibility-Chart And enough stuff is breaking at just about every macOS release.

Wherever you are looking at sure is pretty with all those colors. But none of that screenshot you gave is talking about **Pro Tools 12**. 2019.12 is NOT Pro Tools 12. You need a current license or subscription to run Pro Tools on Catalina and should likely be looking at running 2020.5. Or you need to downgrade from Catalina *if* your Mac can accept an older OS.

I'm running MacOS Catalina 10.15.5 on a MacBookPro14,3 Quad-Core Intel Core i7 2.8 GHz. Looks like I have to upgrade to Pro Tools 2020.5...or downgrade my OS?

You need to upgrade to current version if you want to be running Catalina. You will need 2019.12 or later for that. I am running 2020.5 here.

You have to pay attention to compatibility, but I am guessing the ".12" thing was confusing.

And for that MBP, you could downgrade the OS to 10.12.5 https://everymac.com/systems/apple/m...bar-specs.html

Which again from the Pro Tools compatibility table would let you run with an officially supported Pro Tools 12.8. but I would personally not do this, especially as Avid have delivered significant enhancements and improvements in Pro Tools since then, including in plugin processing in 2019.5 and later.

Hopefully you have not been doing all in-situ upgrades to that MBP, if so, if you want to run say 2020.5 on it on Catalina with least chance of issues I would first do a full clean install of Catalina. And you should be aware of the Pro Tools quicktime issue on Catalina, described in the release notes.

Ok, thanks for your response. I think the best option would be upgrading to Pro Tools 2020.5.
I’ve attached a screenshot of supported processors...Will I have any issues running PT 2020.5 on my MBP considering the processor speed is 2.8 GHz? (Mid 2017 15" MacBookPro14,3 Quad-Core Intel Core i7 2.8 GHz) It’s new, so should be clean already.

It is 2017 so unless you have done a clean install of Catalina, it is upgraded install.

It was bought refurbished. I'm looking into whether it's a clean install or upgrade now. Any idea if the processor speed will be an issue? Considering it's not listed with the supported processors?
