samplerate conversion

Hi, I'm looking for a fast way to do a sample rate conversion on many wav's.

Is there a way to use the samplerate conversion (and to alter the settings) of PTF from the command line (DOS-Prompt in Windows?)

If not I'd be very happy to hear of other programs which will offer me this feature (in a top quality conversion - time's not that important).

Thanks for your ideas :-)

Keep on rockin'
Peter

Re: samplerate conversion

PTF will convert audio files when you import them, though the sample rate you work with may be dictated by your soundcard - e.g. I have a sblive! so have to work at 48 not 44.1. consequently all imported wavs are converted to this.

PTF will also convert via bounce to disk with conversion. This is where I can convert the whole track to 44.1 for Cd burning. You have options re conversion quality at this point, though "tweak head" may take some time.

Presumeably you could import 8 wavs to different tracks and then bounce one at a time and convert?

Cheers,

Sweave

Hi Sweave,

thank you very much for your response :-)

I'll try a memory upgrade (hoping PTF will run faster then). I've also found SOX (for DOS and Linux) which does seem to be good. I'll make some tests to see if PTF or SOX is better (and/or faster).

Regards
Peter
