Is this a scam??????
 

i used the buy it now on ebay and bought a 15", 1ghz, superdrive powerbook for $1,250. The guy is in the states. He has a verified paypal account. He has given me his number and i have called and talked to him. I have emailed him throught the ebay user name am have always had him email me back not anyone else. everything adds up.
But that price is half of what it should be. I asked himhad to pay quick. so he had to sell it quick.
what do you guys think?

If it sounds too good to be true.... It probably is!!

Careful ! There is a scam on ebay with scammers hacking respectable accounts to use for setting up scams.

Search the buy and sell forum here on the DUC for a thread that explains this type of scam. GEneral rule applies here "if it sounds too good, It is too good"

IF it's a scam, don't count on Paypal to protect you. IMHO they're one of the biggest scams going. I know several people who got scammed but paid through Paypal, they did nothing.

A friend of mine once got scammed for $3000.00 trying to buy a Tascam MX2424.

Pay using your credit card, that way if it's a scam you'll be protected.
