A better question might be when will the S3 Support Dante? Avid has a mess of AVB and Dante products in the market. I would hope (but not hold my breath) for a roadmap showing sanity/convergence...

No, it doesn't work like that. You need a AVB Ethernet port like this https://echoavb.com/products/streamware-nic-1

The S3 hardware doesn't support Dante unfortunately.

So why is it not possible to use this card to enable the S3 as an audio interface with Windows?

It says in the FAQ "Any Windows audio application that supports ASIO should work."

I haven't tested it but I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's a bit expensive though!
