Pro Tools 2019.12 Crash on startup - Mac Pro 1,1 El Cap
 

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this... So I have managed to install El Capitan 10.11.6 on an old upgraded Mac Pro 1,1 and I'm trying to see if I can get Pro Tools 2019.12 working on it. However, it keeps crashing on the 'Initializing library content' part as shown in the screenshot..

I have had PT 2019.12 work on my iMac which is running the same OSX version which leads me to believe that it may be a hardware issue?

Is it possible to run PT 2019.12 on a Mac Pro 1,1 with El Capitan 10.11.6?

I doubt it - the last version of Pro Tools compatible with El Capitan was 2018.12. You didn't list the Mac Pro specs, but I doubt you'd get any performance from something that old, unless you went back to an earlier version of Pro Tools and Mac OS. You might be able to update the firmware which would allow you to upgrade to Sierra, but you'd still have to go to an older Pro Tools version.
