How can I get Firmware 1.03 to install in my 11 rack???

I need help!
I cannot load firmware 1.03 into my Windows 7 64 bit machine running pro tools 9.03.

I keep getting a message that the drivers are not installed but I use the 11 rack all the time in pro tools 9 with it working fine with firmware 1.01. I'm trying to update it to 1.03, so I click the install button anyway and it still will not work to matter what I do.

very frustrating. anybody have this issue?

Have the exact same problem. I tried updating on 3 different systems and made sure IE 9 wasn't installed. I've posted on a few different forums asking for help and have gotten no response. Haven't found a solution yet.

For some reason it seems that 1.0.3 won't install on systems that have the latest Eleven Rack driver. I am guessing you both have driver version 1.0.11 installed.

Try uninstalling the 1.0.11 driver and install the older 1.0.8 driver. Then try to load Firmware 1.0.3 - Note that on Windows 7 64 bit there is a problem with the interface not correctly reporting the presence of the 11R driver. The Install/Continue button will be "grayed out", click it anyway and it should install.

After you get 1.0.3 installed you can uninstall the 1.0.8 driver and re-install the 1.0.11 driver so you are up-to-date driver wise.

I'll have to give this a try. Where would I find the 1.0.8 drivers? Can't seem to locate them, only version 1.0.11. Thanks.

They are buried on the Avid site some where. At least they use to be, they may have been taken down. I'll look around, you do the same, and if you haven't found them by tomorrow, I believe I still have them on a back up, so I can upload them somewhere for you if you can't find them anywhere.

You are a genius Benoni. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

I too could not load firmware version 1.0.3 on my ER, tried everything and was about to give up. Then I saw this post and figured what the heck, I'll give it a try.

So, I uninstalled 1.0.11, then loaded the 1.0.8 driver on my system and the firmware updated on the first shot :-)

Just a note, I did this on my 32 bit Win7 system. I don't know if it works for 64 bit variations.

Benoi is a great asset to the forum and I think we would all be lost without him!

I just got around to trying the update on my Windows 7-64 bit machine again using Benoni's method and it worked like a charm. Thanks a ton Benoni for the tip and the link for the old driver version. I can't believe the hoops that you have to go through to install software and updates from Avid. BTW, I also had to uninstall IE 9. But in the end, all is good.
