Random Distortion

Hey all, I am having a reoccurring issue when recording. I am only at about 12 tracks on an i7 macbook pro, running sierra and pro tools 12.7.1 HD with either, and both an Apollo Twin TB Quad, Apollo Duo rack.

I have ZERO plugins running when this happens, the buffer setting is 1024, wifi is off, bluetooth is off, and my system is configured to recommendations.

Its a random fuzzy distortion at random intervals of time.

Here is a bass track that it occurred on, but its on every single track at some point or another.

Re: Random Distortion

Have you recently updated your PT or interface drivers? Maybe try to going back to an earlier driver version?

I hadn't for a long time. So I updated thinking it would help, but it hasn't.

Hi Mickey,

I've experienced something similar, and I solved it by simply changing the
playback engine buffer size and back again. This was regardless of the actual buffer size. Just changing it stopped the distortion.
