Newbee~ish question but still...

Hi,

I have a 2018 license and frankly 2018 on high Sierra is awesome. I don't see the need to buy the subscription plan. Plus I hate subscriptions.

Anyway, I have an iMac Pro that I'd like to get the mileage out of with new os updates etc.

My question is: If I partition a couple 100 gigs and leave high Sierra on there with protools, is there any issues (now or down the road) that I might face?

If not I think I'll keep that partition and ride 2018 for as long as possible.

Thank you.

I did that with PT10/OSX10.6.8 on my mac pro 2008. Sierra partition for everything else. Still runs fine.

Make sure the video card in there supports Metal which you'll need for Mojave and beyond.

Actually you don't need to buy into the subscription plans. Assuming you're out of any licensing you had with 2018 you could pay the reinstatement fee of $299 and get a permanent PT2019 license asset that gets you support and updates for a year. To get updates/support beyond that you're looking at $199/year.
