Can't Shorten song
 

I just finished a song which appears to be 4:00 minutes long. However when I go to bounce it, it lasts 5:30. I believe it has something to do with the Master Fader, as I can see that it (the fader track) appears to go on well after the song ends (right to 5:30). When I change the other tracks to Volume (from Waveform) they also go to 5:30. I've tried everything I can think of to cut this song down to 4:00 but I've had no luck.

Are you using midi? If so, take a look to see if there's any length of track after the 4 minute mark. High light it and delete it. Even though you may not have any notes in that region, the track is still reading it.

I'm not using MIDI. I've tried deleting, highlighting, Cut Special. I've tried just highlighting the part of the song that I want but nothing has worked. Thanks for the suggestion though.

So you have a bounced file that is over 5 minutes long? Import it into a new session and maybe you will find the extra time is blank, in which case, you can simply trim it off and export the shortened file. You can also highlight the amount of time you want the bounce to include(and the bounce SHOULD only include that exact amount of time).

I've tried highlighting the portion that I want bounced, but it's still bounces long. I tried deleting the Master Fader track, and it bounced fine. However when I added a new Master Fader it made the song an extra 1 1/2 minutes long on the bounce again. I've got to believe I've got issues with the Master Fader.

Check your automation for break points. Delete the ones after the end of the song.
