how do I revert to 2018?
2019.5 has been a terrible experience so far. constant -9173 with hyperthreading, which has worked perfectly for years before 2019.5, so no Avid, it's NOT a 3rd party issue! Losrt count of the crashes i had to day.
So how do I revert to 2018? Uninstall is greyed out in Windows app manager, and Avid link doesn't allow me to uninstall either. |

On the Mac all you do is rerun the installer of the version you want.

Re: how do I revert to 2018?
unfortunately I'm on Windows, and running the old installer triggers a message that it can't install because a newer version is found. No possibility to uninstall through app manager or Avid link either. Great stuff, crashing about 3x an hour

Don't use PT on Windows but I'd guess if you remove everything Avid/PT related from system registry and file system you should be good to go. Troublesome, yes.

Uninstall 2019, install 2018. Pretty straightforward.

Re: how do I revert to 2018?
You need to go into the old control panel to uninstall Pro tools on win10. Type control panel in the text box bottom left of your main desktop and it will come up as an option then click on it and choose 'add or remove programs' (I think it's called that, or something like that)

Re: how do I revert to 2018?
Worst version of PT's I've ever used. Probably averaging 5 crashes a day and no way to track down what's causing it. I've never reverted to a previous version, but I'm in the process of doing it right now.
And the good news is my right to "own" the software just doubled in price. |
