Slate VMR releasing on Monday!

The Slate Virtual Mix Rack looks like it will finally be released on Monday, according to Steven's post on Gearslutz:

Here's the quote:

"Hi guys! So as it's already been leaked, we're setting up the new product web pages and getting things ready for launch. Just in case some of you are waiting by your computers, I'll warn you that we have one last beta build going out today to ensure some last minute fixes. We're also finishing up some other materials that will take us to Friday, and we can't release on the weekend, so we're looking at a Monday release.

Hope you guys find that it's worth the wait! Thanks again!

Cheers,
Steven"

Looking forward to this!

Is this the plugin that was supposed to be VCC 2? Or a whole new plugin (which he said he wasn't going to be working on until VCC and FG-X were updated)?

Seems like an interesting plug.

But, OMG, is that really Steven Slate? Man he's a character

I want a discount, three of those four modules have substantial damage to the paint.

VMR sounds REALLY good. It's very CPU efficient and has very low latency. It's going to be a very successful product for Slate.

VCC is not part of it, that'll come later apparently.

I must keep my pledge not to spend anything on Slate until I see functioning AAX versions of the plug-ins I have already purchased. :-)

Thats gonna be extremely difficult after hearing what VMR can do and how awesome it sounds :-) We are going to be very happy. I am seriously impressed.

After the suggestion that VCC might become a VMR module (which didn't necessarily go down too well - forcing a new rack/host when that's not the VCC people purchased ... I think Steven then went quiet on the subject), he says:

'... and VCC users, we're even going to have a free update to the VCC rack module so that you can include your console emulation into your VMR processing chain.'

Mmmm ... nice to have the option if you buy in to the whole VMR concept (I believe there will be a free/empty version - may have mentioned a free module before too) but better to get the plugin as originally designed/offered too, regardless of whether it was easier to develop for the VMR framework. Steven recently 'stuck his neck out' and suggested he's hoping to get VCC out by December, so it looks like this may be an extra feature/advantage for VCC users.

I like this idea. Same flexibility as Waves and T-Racks have in their chainers. I wonder if any future VMR modules are going to break rank and focus on clean processing, instead of "color" effects. For example, I'd buy a Slate transient designer or linear phase equalizer - I remember Fabrice Gabriel had some EQ ("Air" something or other?) that may or may not have come out.
