Mbox or 002 Rack?
Hi. I'm a DJ and I'd like to start producing more seriously. I have a PC runnning XP Pro and also Reason, Sound Forge, and Acid right now, but I want to get Protools. I also have an Edirol MIDI keyboard.
Can I hook up a DJ mixer through the Mbox? my mixer has RCAs for the Record out and also a Mono out (1/4"). If I was to switch to a Mac in the future, i could use the same Mbox right? And would the Mbox be a decent audio interface if I was running Logic on a Mac? Or would Digi 002 be better? I don't know how the latency is, etc. |
Re: Mbox or 002 Rack?
If your just doing DJ type things, the Mbox would be great for ya.And yes you can use the same Mbox with a Mac, it comes with both Windows and Mac software discs..You can get RCA to 1/4 inch adapters for you mixer outs.

Thanks. Would those adapters lessen the sound quality or signal though?

Re: Mbox or 002 Rack?
I 've used an 002R for a year and just picked up an MBox for tracking in very quiet areas. I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the mBox. It is solid, sounds excellent and is as stable as the 002R. Routing aside, the mBox should satisfy you in every way.
What a great deal too - hardware interface plus Protools for less than SX. Amazing. |

My "Booth Out" is 1/4" Can I just go from that straight into the Mbox? Here is the back of my DJ mixer: http://www.allen-heath.com/AHImages/...tors_hires.htm |
