Pro Tools Crossgrade

I own Pro Tools and paid for the perpetual license.
a few days ago I paid $99 for Pro Tools Crossgrade. My question is have i chosen the wrong subscription plan? Am I paying for Pro Tools monthly (although paid at once) when I already own Pro Tools. Should I have just purchased the software and support plan instead? Avids website is complex and difficult for me to find answers. I called the support number but they just advised me to go to the website and try chat. Have I made a mistake by purchasing the cross grade instead of the software and support plan? thanks for any help!

Re: Pro Tools Crossgrade

Crossgrade to Subscription means you lost your perpetual license and moved to the sub model for cheaper price

does this mean that once i no longer pay for subscription that i will keep using Pro Tools but will be ineligible for annual updates? is this a good thing or have i made my situation worse by giving up a perpetual license? sure doesn't sound good!

Re: Pro Tools Crossgrade

No. Subscription means you can only use PT as long as you keep paying. Perpetual license means you get to use whatever version you had when you stopped paying for support plan.

Sorry, I'm a little slow here.

so now that I have cross graded to subscription i have to pay to use Pro Tools from now on. Correct? if i do not pay, Pro Tools will no longer work on my system. Correct?
thanks for the help!

If you wanted to keep your perpetual (non-expiring) license and just get another year of software releases+support then it sounds like you bought the wrong product. Will get a support case going to help so please look for a case notice email in a bit...
