19.7.0.101 – issues
 

My surface order is:

Dock
S3
Control

And I did a complete uninstall (including user prefs) before running into this. Two frustrating bugs that I don't remember seeing in 19.5:

1.) S3 sends in flip mode write automation, but the faders often don't move to the right position. Or some do, and one doesn't. And then as soon as I attention that track on the Dock (which shows the right automation in Control), the S3 snaps into the right place.

2.) the old VCA-spill problem where the first member in the VCA group is left out still happens.

With S3 on top, it's not completely clear if my issues are resolved. BUT, when it is on top as follows:

Avid S3
Dock
Control

I have a new issue, which is that in a layout when the Dock fader is set to attentioned track, it only controls the first track in the Layout. Doesn't follow the attention despite what the iPad screen says. Totally repeatable bug. Contact me if you need help recreating this.

Which issue...the first post or 2nd. We can't reproduce the first post but can the second.

Bu having said that, it's not always the case.. I just tested again on the job I am currently working on and it's fine.

Ok, some more info. I've been switching between sessions all day, and I have a session where the flip fader send on a track is not moving at all unless I attention it, and suddenly it starts moving. Having Dock or S3 on top doesn't make a difference. Closing the session and reopening the session cleared it up. Spooky.

And just to be clear, I spilled a VCA, then flipped, and wrote send automation to a track in the VCA that was clearly recorded in Pro Tools and sounded good. Unspilled, kept working, then went back to spill and flip and noticed that the fader never moves. And when it's not in flip, the little send bar on the screen doesn't fill either. But Pro Tools makes the right sound!
