Re: mbox mini latency

Mbox 2 Mini gives you the ability to monitor
your analog input signals while recording, without
the delay incurred by A/D/A converters and
host-based processing.

This zero-latency analog monitoring is controlled
with the Mix knob, which you can use to
blend and adjust the monitor ratio between
Mbox 2 Mini analog inputs and Pro Tools playback.

To listen to just the source input signal, turn the
Mix knob fully left to Input. To listen to
Pro Tools output only, turn the knob fully right
to Playback.

The output from the Mix control is routed directly
to the Mon Out (Monitor Outputs), and is
mirrored in the Headphone output.

This ability to blend and control the relative levels
of Pro Tools playback and latency-free live
analog inputs can be particularly effective when
overdubbing.

...you'll also have to hit the mute button on the track you are recording.

Thanks for your advice! However, I have a question/concern... when I do the same, and turn the "Mix" knob hard left, using a mono track to record a simple vocal line with a mic... the input is only heard in the left ear of my headphones! Is there any solution to this?? Something about that just doesn't seem right.

Do you have a stereo master track for playback? If it's only playing back from a mono track...

Cheers,

I'm having the exact same problem with the latest mBox mini on P Tools 10 on a MacBook Pro. Is there a solution to this?

Usually this is the "newbie" mistake of recording a mono source(like a vocal or acoustic guitar) to a STEREO track. Record to a mono audio track.
