Mbox 2 on Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)
Hi,
I'm testing the new OsX 10.9 (Developer Preview beta 4) with Logic X with a Mbox 2 I guess Mbox2 mini is unsupported, I've tried to use it as main audio device with several softwares, Itunes, Djay, Logic X... The device is recognized by the Mac, and the System Configuration, Logic automatically find it and the device appears as usual but not sound come out from it. Just a rhythmic click that fades in and out, it's the same with any audio software. Any one as suggestions? Maybe was the same with previous OS X versions. I don't know, if someone can help or suggest please reply. Thanx Jonny |

So how is Mavericks?
..Have you got & installed the latest drivers for the mBox? |
Re: Mbox 2 on Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)
Of course I've Installed 10.3.3 drivers.
Maverick works fine, pretty cool stable and the RAM is managed very well. It's got some innovations in the finder and the web browsing on safari is really immediate. All the old software I've have installed before is running perfectly. But.. I' don't know why my Mbox2 mini does not puts out any sound (except for a crackling click) , even if the system recognizes immediately it... If anyone as got some ideas about this problem solving just reply... thanx |
Re: Mbox 2 on Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)
well, I've got an update:
- the Mbox2 mini records the sound as well. Input channels are working and the Logic X records as usual the sounds from mic or line. - The sound monitoring works but only inside the device, with headphones or speakers. - I can record the sounds but I can't hear what I've recorded via Mbox2 mini. So I must use the built-in sound card for listening. Anyone knows how to fix this problem? thank you very much Jon |

Re: Mbox 2 on Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)
I've upgraded my 2008 macbook pro to mavericks, was told after upgrade that pro tools was incompatible (I'm running LE 8.0.5). Checked the "incompatible software" and found the digidesign midi plugin and the mbox2 plugin files there.
Reinstalled the mbox 2 driver (v90_69594) and hey-presto! Pro Tools LE8 running fine, MBox 2 Micro running fine, other audio sources playback through the mbox micro... haven't yet tried recording audio or midi with my fullsize MBox2 yet, will try later today. |
Re: Mbox 2 on Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)
I have Mavericks running on my macbook pro. My mbox 2 mini gets powered and is recognized under my sound settings but no output. Alls i get is a loud static in my monitor and no sound at all in my headphones. Im using Pro Tools Le 8.0.5 pro tools opens up and i hit play it seemed to be working just no sound. I have 3 digidesign plug ins in my incompatible software folder. Firewire midi, Mbox2 midi and Midi Driver.

Re: Mbox 2 on Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)
Continuing from my post earlier, I've tested my Mavericks installed Macbook pro with the Mbox 2, and no problems whatsoever! Playback is fine and smooth, no plugin errors. Pro Tools LE 8.0.5 records audio and midi just as well as it did with Mountain lion. Happy! Hope everyone else gets to the same point. My experience is definitely evidence for compatibility.
