what do you use? (interface advice)

I am looking to upgrade my audio interface. I currently use a UR44 which I have found to be a pretty solid performer.... but then again I haven't had a lot of experience with many others, if at all. I'm looking to extend the capabilities in relation to an interface I/O to 16-24 inputs. and so would like to hear from people who are using similar and what they are using. interface/desk......

the options that currently interest me are....

Presonus StudioLive 24.4.2 or similar (which can also be used as a FOH desk)

Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 + Scarlett OctoPre (officially supported) but my UR44 isn't and PT does a better job at finding it than Cubase.

Presonus Studio 1824 + DigiMax DP88

if it is going to be an interface it needs to be able to be rack mounted. apart from that I am interested in hearing what peoples experience has been. what limitation does usb/firewire/thunderbolt have or not have and does this effect the amount of active inputs you can run which I guess works in conjunction with processing power. I would be using my MBP listed below.

Cheers

Re: what do you use? (interface advice)

looks like I have a Presonus StudioLive 24.4.2 offer for AUS$1000.00 which will be cheaper than the 2 interface options in my first post. so any experience folks have had with this desk and PT would be greatly appreciated.
