Loud Popping Noise When Session is Loading

PT 10.3.10, Windows 7, PC, MBox 3... everything is up to date and working well. We noticed in the last two weeks that sometimes when PT is loading or we open a session and it is loading, that the MBox lights up suddenly and the speakers pop really loud. I am afraid this is going to damage my speakers. And yes, the volume is always turned down on the Mbox. I can't for the life of me figure out what has changed.

Any clues guys? I appreciate your input!

Make sure that Power Management is disabled for all USB ports? If you haven't done this, its a required tweak. If you have done it, double-check because sometimes a Windows update will reset back to enabled:o

Thank you for the response. Would you happen to know where I would do this? I have a Dell XPS 8100 with Windows 7.

Device Manager>Universal Serial Bus controllers>go down the list and double-click each item. If it shows a tab for Power Management, select that and uncheck the box for "Allow the computer to turn off this device......"

Note that sometimes, a Windows update will reset these, so double-check after any updates:o
