Launch error log: MIDI server [328]

Hey, so I just rebooted my macbook pro and tried to launch PTLE 8.0.3 (SL 10.6.2) and it just bounced in the dock and then stopped responding. After a few restarts I tried repairing permissions, not something I normally try, but seeing as NOTHING had changed since I restarted (just the old kernel panic cos I hot plugged my mbox 2 mini) I thought I may as well try before looking at a reinstall.

This seemed to fix things, but I thought I might as well check out console.app to see if there were any errors at PT launch. Heres the section of system.log from when I launched it (line breaks added for clarity):

Code:

Not sure about the ATS thing, but I was more interested in the line:

Code:

clearly its looking for something, but (Google and) I have no idea what's missing. Anyone got any clues?

Also of note is that the MIDIServer appears to be running in 32-bit mode - I wonder if that has any effect?

/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers/ does not contain a supported architecture.

I'm seeing this too (MacPro, SnowLeopard and 8.0.3. + CMP toolkit)
Any harm in this?

Re: Launch error log: MIDI server [328]

This is an issue we're working on. If you're using an Mbox 2 series device, remove the Digidesign MIDI driver plugin from MacHD>Library>Audio>MIDI Drivers, then restart.

If you're using a 002 or 003, you need that driver to be able to use the MIDI ports on those devices. If you aren't using them, remove that driver. If you DO need them to work, go to the General Troubleshooting thread and do the troubleshooting steps for MIDI issues - you'll still get the bouncing MIDI server folder, but it should disappear after a few minutes and allow you to run Pro Tools as normal.

We should make this a sticky thread until it is resolved as there are many posts about this in this forum.
