Waves v11 bogs down 2020.5

Using Dorrough Surround and WLM in all my templates. Recently updated to v11 and now the sessions become very sluggish when they are enabled. UI becomes much less responsive. Disable them and things run fine. Anyone else notice issues with these plugz? Sessions are all approximately 200 tracks, stereo mixes, and 1 video (h264 or DNX 36). Tried all the various Disk Cache sizes and HW buffers. Came from v9, so haven't yet tried v10 to see if that would run any better.

Specs: Trash can Mac (32gb RAM), PT 2020.5, Mojave, UAD Apollo Twin TB, Glyph USB 3.0.

Exactly the same for me with 2020.9

FWIW, I updated to 2020.9.1 and there's no difference.

Stopped using Waves some time ago and PT runs much smoother than ever

I'm not noticing any extra slowness with V11?

The only thing I notice is some are bogged down with lamenting the lack of AAX DSP :D

Sure thing. Waves TDM was always top performer but their Native has been ... um ... not so great

Does it bog down with several meters open or are they all closed and it just becomes sluggish??

I've noticed some issues with several plugins open with metering, not necessarily Waves. On Mac that is. The best that I can make of it is that instead of using the CPU, which is a good thing, everyone wants to use the graphics card for rendering now.

My best guess is now they're all competing for the same resource. Or there's an underlying problem with the Mac graphics architecture. Which wouldn't explain the issue if you were on Windows.

Suffice to say you shouldn't be having these kind of issues. I think it's worthwhile sharing your experiences with Waves Tech Support. They can't actually fix a problem if they don't know about it.

It all becomes sluggish (like a wet sponge :p) when the meters are enabled regardless if they're visible. I have both running at the same time. I can disable one or the other and it doesn't matter.

I've talked with Waves support and have had no resolution.

Hmm. I'm having issues with PT 2020.9.1 becoming unresponsive/laggy/slugish during editing/playback/recording. Every 3-4 opreations it looks like its going to hang but after 2-3 seconds it keeps on "trucking".

Also had problems with similar laggy/sluggish behaviour and random pops and clicks on many iterations of PT when clicking on different tracks during playback.

Maby I'll try to remove every trace of Waves plugins and see if that helps.

..I'm not sure if this helps, but I'm on the last week of testing PTUltimate 2020.9.1/OSX 10.15.4 before (hopefully) deploying properly for paid client use.

I'm still on Waves V10 as I let my WUP expire, but I've had no issues at all with their plugins on large(ish) 96k music sessions.

In fact at 96k with a 64 sample buffer they have the same latency as my TDM rig at 44.1khz (just under 2ms) for monitoring through.

I was wondering if I needed to update to V11, but by the sound of things I might be better sticking where I am...
