MIDI Notes deleting when a tangent region is deleted
This is an odd issue with MIDI editing in PT (I'm on PT 12.8 - Win 10).
So, I had a MIDI track with notes programmed, and I wanted to divide them into separate regions on the grid. Basically, I had 8 measures of whole notes, with exactly one measure in between each note. Everything was done on the grid. So I separated the MIDI region on the grid, and then I wanted to delete the empty regions, basically measure 2,4,6, 8 etc. But, when I selected and deleted measure 2, the note in measure 3 disappeared too. Same for measure 4, with note in 5 disappearing. I used the trimmer tool to make sure everything was spot on the grid, and it was. But no difference. This has to be a bug in PT MIDI functioning. Has this happened to anyone else? |

Yes, I've seen it happen a few times. It can also happen when you duplicate a clip. I think it has to do with sample rounding. Very annoying indeed.

Thanks, Stig. At least it’s not just me!!

Re: MIDI Notes deleting when a tangent region is deleted
I keep forgetting about this VERY annoying problem and my notes go missing when I edit this way. It's beyond annoying if you have a thick arrangement, so you lose more than a single hi-hat or something.
