Xpand Drum Kits

Is there any documentation on how to use the Xpand drum kits? They are not covered in the Xpand Plug-In Guide.

For example, the 01 Pop Kit appears to cover some of the General MIDI Standard drum kit and use the same drum notes, but only a small subset. If you choose that kit, different patches are loaded into each part. The Kicks Selector is loaded in Part A. The display says "Use Knobs to select B0+C1 kicks". Knob A3 is assigned to C1 Select. If you rotate A3 it does change the drums on note C1, but the display only shows percentages. That's not overly helpful.

Are you wanting to automate the A3 C1 Select Kick Knob?

No, I just want a list of what drums are selected by the knob.

There is no list you'll have to either set and forget, Automate or add the percentage value to the tracks Comments field.

Re: Daft Xpand Drum triggering

Hi Danika
Did you sort this issue and if so can you let me know how? Xpand2 kick and snare settings are about the most counter intuitive examples of software ever conceived by man.

Like you I can't get a snare or kick sound and why call a setting "Kick selector or kick menu" when there doesn't seem to be any menu or slecting to be done!!?? Preset kit or individual sounds don't make any difference, I get toms and cymbals no problem but no snare or kit. I'm using an electronic kit and the kick pedal will trigger any instrument in xpand EXCEPT a kick drum!! How crazy is that!!??

I'm getting EZdrummer instead so I don't have to deal with this daft issue but any advice you have would be very gratefully received!!

Re: Xpand Drum Kits

Peter, simply select Kick Menu for Part A and Snare Menu for Part B. Using a MIDI Controller, Kick key range is C1-B2, Snare key range C2-B3.

My interpretation on topic would be:
A drop-down with the names would be helpful
( [ C-1 808 - C-1 Rock etc] )

+1 for this suggestion.

-1 That would add a submenu to a submenu on an existing popup menu.
