To me it seems like a bug.

I can reproduce by selecting Solo-mode "AFL"
Works one time, then mute.

I also discovered that with 2019.5 I cannot solo-safe any channel.

Edit: I guess you can't solo-safe in AFL mode.

Oh yes, it's a bug. Seemingly only when using AFL Mode. Sorry, ignore my useless earlier post.

To reproduce:

In 2019.5 Create a new empty session.

Create two audio tracks, drag and drop some audio content on them. Stereo, mono, your choice.

You can be in Latch or X-OR mode both show the audio not working.

Hit play. Now soloing one and then the other track while the transport is running.

In solo AFL mode you don't hear any audio after the second time you solo. Stopping and starting the transport gets you back audio. SIP and PFL modes do not show this problem.

No need since it uses a "separate" Solo Buss unlike SIP which uses the "stereo buss"

does this also happen on a track with no plugins ? Maybe a plugin inserted which conflicts ?

It is not clear which post or part of it you are replying to. If the stuff shown in the first post... are you using AFL mode, the problem only happened in AFL mode. It happens with no plugins instantiated, as simple to reproduce as my previous post..

Oh damn, we all failed to read the release notes carefully.:-)

This is already documented as a know issue in the 2019.5 release notes. So Avid is well aware of the issue, thanks jeffro for pointing that out.

From the release notes...

"No audio when toggling solo (AFL Mode) during playback. (PT-251511)
Audio returns when the track's volume fader is touched or if the track hits a an automation volume change."

Anyone else experiencing issues with Solo In Place (SIP) mode?

I have to solo a track, stop playback and then hit play again to hear the soloed track. If I just hit solo on a track it's silent. Works fine with other solo modes.

Solo AFL mode bug is discussed on DUC already, and a known issue in the 2019.5 release notes.

But you said SIP not AFL mode... see if it’s the same issue as described here or in the release notes.
