Can't hear record enabled track during playback
Hello everyone.
Another newb request to help me out to resolve my issue. I have Pro Tools 12.2 and Eleven Rack as my primary interface. My goal is to get record enabled track to be heard during playback along with the other tracks. For instance, I have an audio track with input from 11R rig and output to main stereo OUT of it (the same as by default for the other tracks). Once this track is record enabled I can hear my guitar with sound processed by 11R but as soon as I start playback the signal stops coming to the audio track but it works when I do the actual recording. Sometimes I just want to practice before record but can't find a workaround how to do it besides just make unneeded records. And the same behavior is not only with 11R rig. For example I have Roland XV-5050 with SRX-01 card which I want to use for the drums part. I have a midi-track which triggers Roland and I have an audio track which is configured to record the audio from Roland's output (tried both analog and digital) and I can hear Roland on record-enabled track only when do the actual recording but not during playback which makes great inconvenience to switch different drum sets on Roland to select which one fits better to a particular song I work on. Is there any way to configure some kind of Aux track or something to hear particular interface input while playing other tracks? Thank you. |
Re: Can't hear record enabled track during playback
sounds like you have selected Input-Only monitoring. Alt-K toggles that function and you can tell its on by 2 things:
#1-you can't hear playback on a record-enabled track(exactly what you described) #2- a small green "LED" symbol shows to the right of the Transport buttons |

Yep, using Alt-K resolved my issue!
albee1952, thank you very much! |
