Quicktime file starting over in session
Never mind. Didn't see the massive sticky on this! Sorry!
Hello all, So I'm working on a movie in LE 8 with CPTK. When viewing the movie (H264) in Quicktime, it plays to the end with consistent timecode burn and everything is good. However, in my pro tools session, at about an hour and a half in, the quicktime starts playing from the beginning again! All of my OMF and session audio below are continuing on, but the movie itself restarts. My playhead doesn't return to the beginning or anything, just the movie playback starts over. Very, very strange. I've never had this happen before. Any thoughts? I've tried deleting the video track and re-importing, renaming the video file, moving it somewhere else on the timeline. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
Re: Quicktime file starting over in session
Try exporting a new copy of the file in quicktime and maybe change the codec. I had a problem last night were I couldn't import the audio from a quicktime though pic would come in fine. Every time I tried I was hit with an assertion error, but the audio would play fine in quicktime. I used quicktime pro to export a new version of the pic and the audio imported into quicktime like normal. And if that doesn't work then I'd try the ol' trash databases and preferences trick.

Re: Quicktime file starting over in session
This is a known issue. Just seperate the video file in PT at the frame, before it jumps to the beginning. This should solve it.

Re: Quicktime file starting over in session
Can you point to the stickie please? Also, what if you can't separate the video track. I'm on PT 10.3.9 and just on PT standard.

Re: Quicktime file starting over in session
I don't know where the sticky is either. I've never seen this glitch with the new AVE, but if you're on ye olde PT10, do what JWalker suggests and change the codec. PT10 and the PJPEG codec work very nicely together.
QT Pro export... Movie to QT Movie... Compressor and a zillion other apps do it too. |
