how does this light pipe thingy work? help!!!!!!!!
 
am running a 02 with a 1.25 G4 firewire 800 and my ? is do yu record the tracks to the adat first or does the audio just pass through the adat to the light pipe? does the adat has to be in synk with the digi? well ive never tryed it but am curios to know thanks!

Most people never plug an ADAT into the ADAT port. It's an optical data port which was originally used on ADAT, but has been adopted by several other vendors.

With ProTools, most people use it to hook up external AD/DA and preamp boxes, like the Digimax LT, the Behringer ada8000... of course, if you have an ADAT lying around, you can use it with the ADAT port to get 8 more channels.
