wondering if anybody tested this out.

I think it´s pretty good, not in all cases, but I`m still playing around .

I've been using SPL's De-Verb recently on a greenscreen show with outdoor locations. If you push too far it ends up distorting the dialogue too much but with subtle use it's really rather effective.

Jens - how much did you pay as on their site it says it's 130 JYen, which is 1Euro. Surely it's not that cheap?

I have tried a demo of it. It is interesting - but I didn't find it as useful as I wanted to. It did an ok job with removing the reverb tails from dialogue. It would artefact if driven too hard - keeping the settings low helped on this account. The problem is that it doesn't remove the early reflections, so even though you might have a reduced reverb tail - you still have the reflections that define the room.

Try the Cedar DNS ONE rtas plug in - imho the best tool for this job

Generally deverbs or reverb removal tools fall under the "too good to be true" category. Get it right from the start mentality shines here. They are usually just glorified expanders.

I'm with Mike on this one. Either the DNS one or the Waves WNS noise surpressor.

I've had pretty good results in the past if you use the Izotope RX hum removal tool. Find the fundamental of the verb/room and assign multiple harmonics - It's essentially EQ but the Q is very tight on it and you can have up to 8 harmonics very quickly :)

i've had some good results with the new Waves Noise Suppressor as well as drawing the automation down in the holes.

OK...here is one of my hard won tricks:
Any (noticeably Sonic No Noise or WAVE X-Noise) do a very good job of removing Reverb if used inversely of what we usually do. When telling the software "what is noise" tell it that it is the audio you want to keep not the audio you want to remove as we usually do. Of course, all the controls now work inversely of what we expect but, this is not a bad thing. Adjust the controls to taste and notice what a real difference. I have even used this trick on legal clean up jobs to remove other more generic sounds (car engine sounds, other voices (yes silly as it seems other voices)
