Yeah. The gearhead in me is going to do this m.2 blade thingy. Switching thing. I'm pretty much over software. For my studio I've only been getting hardware to use as inserts. I'm sticking with my icon d control 48 fader desk for the foreseeable future. For my audio nerd instinct it's all hardware now. Bring it.

Thanks. I saw that before. They don’t deliver to Sweden for some reason.

Re: NVMe upgrade for Mac Pro 4.1/5.1 Mojave
After reading through Darryl’s links and recommendations, I am installing two 970 1TB NVMe SSDs in the I/O Crest (SYBA SI-PEX40129) Dual M.2 NVMe SSD PCIe card mounted to the pci-e board and a 2TB 2.5” ssd drive in an OWC blue sled in one of the bays (for samples). Plus, a Radeon RX560 graphics card. I will then install Mojave in my Mid 2012 Mac Pro.

Couple question for you et. al. #1 Would anyone know if the the 1 TB yields faster read/write speeds than the 500 GB ,,,like in my current 951 (AHCI) SSD where the 500 was faster than the 250 ? Or if I go duel 1 TB's I assume the Mac sees the 2 blade config as one drive ? So I could partition it into 1 TB for PT sessions and 1 TB for FCPX projects yes? And eliminate my HDD And SATA storage altogether ? or use for backup . |
