fire wire hard drive for Mac g5 ppc hd 8
 
Hi
I need hard drive space for my protools 8 hd 2 system. 0s 10.5.5 It's on a Mac g5 power pc 2 ghz.
I'm thinking firewire
any suggestions?

just about any FW 400/800 HD will work. Just format it with the PPC system and everything should be fine. Macsales has FW HD and so do other retailers.

Indeed^^^^. My 2 cents:
Glyph-the best(and priced that way)
LaCie-the cheapest(the "McDonalds" of firewire drives)
OWC-the best balance of price vs quality:o

Yet another story is the boot sector, if you want the drive to be bootable. In that case you need to select "Apple Partition Map" instead of GUID.

yes its on the back on the PPC, the FW800. Use an 800 to 800 cable also to ensure that fastest speeds.
