002 hardware communication error?
I have been happily using my 002 for a couple of years with very few problems until now.
Today shortly after hooking up (no driver install needed) my new external Seagate 300GB firewire drive and copying all my songs-in-progress sucessfully to it, I got a new error message: "Unable to communicate with digi hardware." Everything worked fine until about a minute into playing a PT song, nothing was unplugged or anything. I am guessing the firewire ports on the 002 have both taken a dirt nap. (When I turn off the 002 and open the files on the drives, both firewire ports and both external drives seem to be ok) I did make the possible mistake of hot-unplugging and replugging the 002 firewire cable when troubleshooting, before I did a search and found that is bad for the firewire ports. When I turn off the 002 and wait a few minutes it validates and starts up and runs for a while, then it stops and I get the same message. Anybody have any suggestions? |

Judging by your 11 posts, you need to spend more time in here. Sounds a lot like the dreaded power harness issue that has been DUC'd to death.
