S6 Machine follows Transport shortcut
 

Hi all,

Just jumped over to S6 from DControl. We’ve had a couple of S6’s in house so I’m familiar with it.

I do a lot of laybacks to XDCam. The icon had a dedicated button for “Machine follows Edit Insertion” Basically this makes the XDCam deck locate to anywhere you click on the timeline. I’m always jumping in and out of this mode.

I’ve searched high and low for this in the Eucon list but can not find it. Would love to assign this to a soft key.

Any ideas besides triggering a macro that will open preferences and click the option.

It looks like this was overlooked as we've seen less 9-pin use by customers over the years... This is specifically what you are referring to, correct?

Pro Tools > Preferences >
"Machine Follows Edit Insertion/Scrub"

Hi Jeff,

Yes. That’s the one! I wasn’t in front of my rig.

I would imagine that the possibility of including this would be low at this point? I’ve got at least 8 Sound professionals in Australia who would thank you profusely for doing so!

Just updated to 18.3.

Was excited to see if this had been added. If it has, I can't find it.

Eddie, I know you said you couldn't promise a date, just wishful thinking!
