003 and El Capitan

The current 003 drivers do not mention support for El Capitan. Seem to work ok with Yosemite. Anyone know if they will work if I upgrade to El Capitan?

The 003 is listed under Supported non-HD audio devices with OS X 10.11:

Oh, but now it says the Eleven Rack is NOT supported. Any idea when that will happen (I have 11R too)?

It works in Yosemite but there is an issue that is heavily taxing the CPU. Have you noticed this on your system? With PT and 003 running, open Activity Monitor and under CPU look for the item called "kernel_task". It should normally be between 3-5% but a lot of us are seeing 85-110%! I'm really hoping an updated driver and El Capitan will fix this.

Re: 003 and El Capitan

I read about the kernel_task issue but I never had problems with it. I'm not even sure about the rational behind.
In my case the activity monitors shows Pro Tools at 150 % and the kernel_task at approx 50 % ('normal' audio session with some midi). As I learned the activity monitor shows 100% as a full processor core being used for a task.
So, Pro Tools is using 1,5 cores and the kernel_task 0,5 core. In total 2 cores from my i7 with 8 cores. I wouldn't call this an issue.

OSX 10.10.5
iMac i7
Pro Tools 11.3.2 HD
003 Console (latest driver)

The kernel_task should normally be a fraction of that (typically between 5-20%). It also eats up RAM excessively. How much of your RAM is it using? Look at the "Real Mem" column.

If you have a new-ish computer and not running big sessions with lots of plugs and/or VI's, you may not run into problems. The bottom line for me is that big sessions that used to run fine are now choking.
