Unfortunately, that is usually a bad, bad sign that the session has been corrupted beyond repair.

Do you have auto-save turned on? If so, have you tried one of the auto saved sessions? If not, you may want to think about turning that feature on in the future.

You might also be able to import session data into a new session.

Magic ID problems can also be an indication of a larger computer problem; failing drive, etc. You might want to test all of your components to make sure everything is running properly.

Go look in preferences, you may have auto back up turned on without knowing it… And you might want to start to backing up your sessions to another drive. These things happen.:D

As mentioned by others throughout, this usually means the session is corrupted beyond repair and possibly a bad drive.

A good tool to add to the engineering toolbox is SpinRite.
