Making a deep, rumbling voice
I'm trying to make a giant robot voice, and want it to have a deep rumble to it much like the big bots in Transformers. Nothing I've tried so far is working well. If you have experience in coaxing voices down into LFE territory I'd appreciate a pointer in the right direction.

Re: Making a deep, rumbling voice
Well, in case someone else searches for this sort of thing, I found an answer. (Got an email back from Gary Rydstrom.)
Here's what I did: Duplicated the voice track and pitched it down an octave. Duplicated that track and pitched it down another octave. Fed both of those into an Aux channel with Wave's LoAir Subharmonic Generator, set to "Speaker Destroyer". So the new thing I learned today was "Subharmonic Generator". Lucky me, LoAir was on sale today. |

Another thing to add to the mix is try a ring modulator; that's what the BBC uses to make the voice of the Daleks on Dr. Who

You could also try the Avid Pro Subharmonic plugin.
Haven't tried it n vocals but it really can rumble on bass. |
