Rewire crashes PT8 on quit
 

if the digirewire plug is installed, PT crashes on every quit

my rewire app is plogue bidule


I´ve searched the forum for that issue and found some threads, but the most of them are 2-3 years old, so perhaps it is an old and unsolved problem ?

You need to update ALL your Rewire capable apps, especially Melodyne (if you have it installed).

You have an old component installed and when Pro Tools tries to load it, it will crash.

thank you for answering...

but I did all that a few month before, as I´ve installed PT8 the first time and had crashes at PT-STARTUP (by removing old rewire extensions this issue disappeared)

but now I have this problem with crashes at QUIT only (since I´ve installed plogue bidule yesterday)

I´ve checked all my rewire apps (melodyne, plogue bidule), so I have installed the latest versions

there must be another reason for that :(

I'm having the same problem. At the end of my working day when I go to quit PT it doesn't respond. Its menus disappears but the icon in the doc remains active. Neither a big weapon like force quit is able to quit PT when this happens.

And if you remove Bidule, do the crashes stop?

Have you tried the basic stuff yet - trashing prefs, databases, etc?

yes, I´ve tried the basic stuff...didn´t help

I have only crashes with bidule, with melodyne PT quits witout a problem

it does´nt matter if bidule is still open at quitting PT

bidule + melodyne are the only rewire apps I use, so I don´t know how is the behaviour with other rewire apps

I´ve got a response from the bidule support-forum regarding this issue


it´s a known bug and they are working on it
