Re: Blackmagic Desktop Video Software v10.1.1 Update
sorry for the newbie question, but I'm looking for a neat 3 screen solution for my laptop to do the occasional work at home...
Has anyone got some positive experience with BM Intensity Shuttle for USB 3 in combo with a MBP 13" (mid 2012)? |
Re: Blackmagic Desktop Video Software v10.1.1 Update

Downloading now. Going to install later this evening, although being in the middle of a project.
Constantly looking for the holy grail in form of PT 11 version and various drivers around it. |
Re: Blackmagic Desktop Video Software v10.1.1 Update
I think it would make sense to rename the title of this thread to "Blackmagic Desktop Video Software", without any version numbers in it. It doesn't make much sense to have an obsolete thread like this pinned. This thread could serve us better.
Anyway; there is a new generation of Blackmagic video drivers out: 10.6.x. Has anyone tried them? Any comments? The 10.5.x generation wasn't very popular. Didn't work with my system at all. I tried every 10.5.x version and everyone of them were drifting 100+ milliseconds. I'm still on 10.4.x, namely the 10.4.3. |
Re: Blackmagic Desktop Video Software v10.1.1 Update
10.6.2 Actually works really well
Installed it, and tested for 2 hours with no issues. PTHD 12.4 on Yosemite |

10.5 would BSOD on Windows with Pro Tools. BM support were simply 'we don't support it', not even interested in the memory dump. So I went AJA and it feels so much better and has been rock solid stable. I'd like to hope that 10.6.2 is better (at least fixed the BSOD) but quite frankly cannot be bothered to swap cards out, install software etc, since the AJA stuff works so well. |
Re: Blackmagic Desktop Video Software v10.1.1 Update
Also, take care, as these drivers seem to add another frame of delay which you'll have to compensate for in Video Sync Offset.

Re: Blackmagic Desktop Video Software v10.1.1 Update
Thanks guys. I'm about to try 1.6.x myself some time this week.
I'm looking forward to try an AJA video device some day. Though, with a reasonable stable driver for the BM device, as the 10.4.x generation for me, I'm okay with with my Intensity. The PT video engine or PT video integration has gotten better over time. Currently at 12.4. Welcome to the community hungthinhvip. |
